Farmer Cooperative Development
Our organizational development packages are aimed at strengthening the governance skills for leaders of cooperatives and other organisations. REBDA provides both training and technical support (hand-holding) for leaders and managers. The training covers topics like management of meetings, conflict resolutions, managing risks, policy formulation, strategic planning and communication.
Agribusiness value chain development
Our services are targeted at incrementing the capacity of both existing and intending farmers and other value chain actors and their staff to effectively and efficiently manage technical aspects of their enterprises. To the farmers and other value chain actors, REBDA provide a complete package/menu of services including training, extension (technical support) services, incubation services, farm tours, information products (manuals and handouts), technology transfer and linkages (output and input markets).
Financial Services deepening/inclusion
We train entrepreneurial farmers/producers, traders, processors and service providers to form and manage Savings and Credit Co-operatives (SACCOs) and small savings and lending groups. We also train trainers and support them as they form and provide technical assistance to VSLAs and SACCOs. For small savings and lending groups, we use the Village Savings and Loan Association (VSLA) methodology, a standard and proven package that enables resource poor rural and urban communities to improve savings culture and also professional run their organisations.
Financial Literacy Skills Training (FLST)
We enable our clients to access to affordable finance and help strengthen the financial services ecosystem. We achieve this through supporting the formation and strengthening of MSME owned, managed and governed financial institutions (SACCOs, investment Clubs and VSLAs) and strengthening their linkages with the formal financial service providers. The major BDS that we provide include capital/fundraising, financial management, financial literacy and corporate governance.
