Background

Legally incorporated (limited by guarantee) under Section 16(1) of the Companies Act on 10th November, 2015 with registration number 211444, Reign Business Development Agency (REBDA) is a non-profit organization dedicated to the improvement of the well-being (livelihoods) of the urban and rural poor. It does this through the provision of business development services to entrepreneurial women and men that operate or work for start-up scale-up and later stage Micro, Small and Medium Scale Enterprises (MSMEs) especially smallholder farmers and other agribusiness value chain actors. The major services provided by REBDA include training, advice (coaching, mentoring and counselling), technical support, information, business Incubation, lobby and advocacy and research/studies

REBDA’s services are aimed at helping of entrepreneurs and managers to attain a rational capacity to provide goods and services with a high level of competitiveness and to reach a reasonable degree of productivity and profitability. In so doing we contribute to improvement of livelihoods of urban and rural communities and growth of local and national economies.

REBDA undertakes a number of interventions aimed at enhancing the capacity of entrepreneurial women and men, especially those operating in the sectors of agribusiness, trade and commerce, manufacturing, energy and services, to start, operate and expand/scale profitable enterprises. The interventions include skills training, business incubation services, technical assistance (business plan preparation, feasibility studies and proposals), coaching/mentoring, lobbying/advocacy and business linkages.

Background

The overall objective of REBDA is to strengthen the capacity of business enterprises to attain higher levels of productivity and profitability in a sustainable manner. The specific objectives/goals include:

  • Develop competent human resources with the right set of skills, knowledge and mindset to manage profitable and sustainable enterprises.
  • Encourage the adoption of productivity enhancing technologies and management practices
  • Facilitate access to affordable credit & markets for technologies, raw materials and products
  • Create platforms for networking and establishing contacts.
  • Develop corporate organizations with strong and reputable brands with national and international appeals
